History Established in , Bakersfield College is one of the oldest two-year community colleges in the nation. The initial program offered a one-year curriculum, and in the trustees of the Kern County High School and Junior College District authorized a second year of junior college and normal school courses. The college opened its present day campus high above the Panorama bluffs in Bakersfield College offers courses at its satellite campuses located in downtown Bakersfield at the Weill Institute, at its Delano Campus and other locations in Kern County.
